Unlinking a PNID

This page provides information on unlinking a Pretendo Network ID from a console, usually so that a different PNID can be added to the same console/profile.

It is not recommended or necessary to remove your Nintendo Network ID through these methods, as all digital apps are tied to it. If your PNID has the same name as an NNID on the console, create a new PNID with a different name

This will not delete a Pretendo Network ID, so it can still be used on the same console or through another console. To delete a PNID, see Deleting a PNID.

Nintendo 3DS

The console's friend profile (friend code and added friends) will not be removed.

  1. Open the Nimbus app (either on the Home Menu or the Homebrew Launcher) and select Nintendo
  2. After the console reboots, power off the console
  3. Open the Luma3DS configuration by pressing SELECT while turning the console on
  4. Disable the Enable loading external firms and modules and Enable game patching options, then select “Save and Exit”
  5. After the console reboots, launch the eShop and wait for it to load (if it provides an error code, that is fine)
  6. Power off the console, return to the Luma3DS configuration menu and re-enable Enable loading external firms and modules and Enable game patching, then select “Save and Exit”
  7. Open the Nimbus app again, and select Pretendo
  8. The Pretendo Network ID should be unlinked. To confirm, launch Miiverse, and you should get either error 015-5015 or 022-5432

Method 2: Godmode9

This method will also remove the Nintendo Network ID if one is present, and as such it is not recommended unless the console already lacks an NNID

  1. Create a NAND backup in Godmode9 by following this guide
  2. Remove the PNID by following this guide
